Free Public Planetarium Shows Mondays & Fridays 1:00-1:45 pm
Greetings SF State community!
When was the last time you saw the stars? They may be hard to see from the city, but more
than 1300 stars shine in SFSU's planetarium! Join us for a free lunchtime public show this fall.
WHEN: Mondays and Fridays 1:00 - 1:45 pm (last admittance at 1:10 pm)
WHERE: Charles F. Hagar Planetarium, Thornton Hall Room 422
Monday shows presented by graduate student Gillis Lowry:
These shows will trace thousands of years of humanity through constellations,
the moon and planets, galaxies, and even black holes. Curious about your place
in the universe, the search for life beyond Earth, or even just want to spend
a quiet moment away from the bustle of work or classes? Come on by!
Friday shows presented by staff member Jim Gibson:
These shows will focus on the night sky on the day of the show. See how
the stars, sun, moon and planets move on this day and throughout the year.
Don't miss out! The planetarium will be closed for renovation through most of 2026.
This may be your last chance to see and learn about the beautiful night sky produced
by our venerable Spitz star projector.
Bring a friend and spread the word!
