SF State Students Presented Research at the 2026 Global Physics Summit

A group of 5 students (undergraduate students: Benjamin Dechant and Benjarat Chumwong; Graduate Students: Juan Pablo Campbell Naranjo, Muyang Huang, and Holden Saberhagen) from our department attended and presented their respective projects at the 2026 APS Global Physics Summit in Denver, CO, March 15-20, 2026. The Global Physics Summit is the largest physics research conference in the world, uniting 14,000 scientific community members across all disciplines of physics. The five SF State students shared their research projects ranging from the investigation of nanoscale defects in 2D materials with advanced microscopy techniques to the study of fundamental physics in disordered photonic systems. Aside from the scientific sessions, the students also took advantage of the many networking and professional development opportunities at the conference.
